Located on Atlanta’s ever changing Westside, The Interlock is a massive mixed use development featuring office and retail space, in addition to apartments and a hotel. Currently under construction, the project is in collaboration with Wakefield Beasley & Associates. Our role on this project began with a study of a main level public plaza at the corner of Howell Mill and 14th Street. Our exploration soon began to uncover opportunities to expand the plaza throughout the site, creating an alleyway featuring leasable pods situated along its borders and into tight spaces that otherwise would have been empty. Over the course of our two year involvement as design architects, we have explored a multitude of components in the project. These include facade studies, interior design for public spaces, and architectural design of leasable pods.
