Tapp’s Food Hall & Brewery is a proposed adaptive reuse project housed within an Art Deco department store in downtown Columbia, SC.  The building contains a plethora of unique art deco elements such as cobalt glass, vintage light fixtures and chrome metal trim, which our team strategically worked into the overall design.  A cluster of food stalls sit in the middle of the space, with circulation and seating around the perimeter.  The rear portion of the building is anchored by the proposed brewery, with a mezzanine for private events hovering above.  Located immediately next to the building is a long narrow alleyway which is connected to Main Street.  We proposed cutting new openings into the building to reach the alleyway directly, providing exterior dining and event space.
