Our latest project for The Allen Morris Company, located in Atlanta’s Westside, is Stella at Star Metals, a 327-unit luxury apartment building with a multi-level leasing and lobby area, mailroom, fitness room, screening room, and pool deck. Building upon the organic, curved expression of the exterior design, we worked collaboratively with the architecture teams of Oppenheim Architecture + Design in Miami, Dwell Design Studio in Atlanta, and Naturalficial for landscape design. Connecting the multi-level amenities at the ground floor is a fully custom, steel spiral staircase that floats between the fluted plaster round columns. Perforated blackened steel railings with integrated lighting graze the metal and highlight the natural texture. Local Atlanta steel artisan, Mill & Forge fabricated this bespoke stair. Walnuts, leathers, and plush velvets find their way onto the custom furnishings, which were vintage-inspired and aim to create a warm welcome for residents and their visitors. The pool deck features custom day beds, chaise loungers and two-toned umbrellas to create a hospitality-forward ambiance.
