Star Metals office building is the second of three projects we’re involved with in the Star Metals District on the Westside of Atlanta. Our efforts here are focused on the interior design of the lobby and seventh floor amenity spaces. The lobby functions as a streetscape where the blending of old and new, inside and outside, foreground and background tells the story of this community to visitors. Natural light filters through the interiors where we pair botanicals that visually connect to the terraced landscapes on the exterior. Design details bring warmth and approachability where every furniture welt and reveal is considered and is as important as the overall palette. Custom pieces with materials inspired by the patinated colors and textures of scrap metals serve as a reminder of the area’s industrial past. These elements layered with artwork and neon cascading up the stair walls captures the new spirit of the neighborhood.
