2022 Atlanta Magazine’s Georgia Design Silver Award for Retail Boutiques

In a small storefront on Atlanta’s Westside, we created a luxury boutique and spa for a pair of local entrepreneurs called Faced the Facial Studio. We used plaster finishes which allow for glowing, tactile surfaces and edges throughout. We were inspired by relief sculpture where interior forms are created by voids within the massing as we carved out display shelving, built-in seating, and casework in the petite space. The overall palette is subtle to exude a feeling of calm and is reminiscent of a high-end residential bath suite. A barrel-vaulted ceiling and copper lanterns lead to the treatment rooms and help soften a narrow corridor.
